Radical Acceptance
Thanks to a great friend, Aaron, for sharing this one with me this week. My favorite definition of radical acceptance thus far is (from here):

Radical acceptance means practicing a conscious effort to acknowledge and honor difficult situations and emotions.
Why do I love this one? Because it calls out conscious effort required and I really, really love the use of the word honor here.
I've also been asking Claude about topics I'm learning lately and in this case, I thought part of its answer to "What is radical acceptance?" was also worth sharing:

Radical acceptance doesn't mean approving of the situation or giving up. Instead, it's about accepting things as they are in the present moment, which can reduce emotional suffering and allow for more effective problem-solving.
The last ~9 months have been a rough patch for my family. I've spent a fair bit of time on emotional roller coasters. Radical acceptance is a new skill I aim to build to increase my resilience. Life is tough, I want to be tougher.
